strider adventure time
[It's pretty quiet out here, even with the low crack and rumble of thunder deeper in the "city", the lumbering skeletal monsters roaming the open plains beyond. There's little here in the outskirts, where the fenestrated plane spat them out. A stray imp or two, short buildings, the worst of the crumbling ruins, and a safehouse not too far away from where they started. From there, it won't be hard to make it back to the apartment. Not that Dave seemed to show much interest in doing so. Not any more than he's shown for anything, anyway, beyond largely-silent observation, nods and shrugs.
He's quiet, too. Which Dirk is more than okay with. Speaking to people is still hard for him, sometimes, and speaking to Dave is even harder. What is there to say, really? It's not like he ever had much, even in imagined conversations with someone bigger and older and wiser. Someone that he ought to let go of, one of these days.
It's highly probable, but still difficult to imagine, that the other boy might be thinking the same things. Logic dictates it, but something in him won't let Dirk truly believe.]
