[It's only with much practice that Gumball has learned to multitask. It isn't often enough that he's left in peace while he's here in his kitchen, whipping up one thing or another while attendants and consultants and guards and all manner of subjects come and go with all manner of matters on their hands. He's learned to prioritize, to strike a balance between his passion and his duties, to learn which should require immediate attention and which he can make wait. It's just how he's decided to do things, and sometimes, his baking just comes first.

Today, though, requires a different balance, because the presence perched next to him on the counter actually quite has his attention. Given, as most of her stories go, Fionna's various conversation topics including a pulse-pounding recount of the ogre she and Cake took down on their way to the Goblin Kingdom last week give him a little leeway attention-wise. And even then, he's finding himself absorbing just about every word.

Well, mostly. It's when he finds himself fussing with the candy decoration placement on one of his cookie mermaids that his attention wanders off, if only for the moment.]

[Well his real ones certainly jump up, and he can't help a few soft laughs as a warm smile comes across his face.]

Oh, Fionna. It looks lovely, thank you.

[Uh oh, is he blushing a little bit?]

Psshh nooooo, thank you.

[ her blush might come to rival his, skintone aside. places the cookie she designed down gently and reaches out to encourage him a little closer by the wrist so she can get a better look at what he's made without her needing to hop off the counter. ]

[He takes a couple steps forward once he catches on, and lifts the baked good up for her to inspect better, not really sure what else to say. Funny, his words keep failing him today.]

[ smiles fondly, leaning over and investigating it. she fails entirely to let go of his wrists, though her hold is admittedly light. ]

There's basically no way I could eat this. It's too awesome.

I suppose so. Although it might be some strange form of cannibalism, so there might be something to that.

[Nevermind the fact that he's a person made of candy using CANDY TO MAKE THINGS TO EAT.]

That's no big d. I mean, I've had soy people before and that was actually pretty awesome.

[ thoughtlessly shifts her hold so her hands are over the back of his, even though she's no longer looking down at the cookie, just smiling up at him. ]
